Hi everyone!

My name is John and I’m 43 from England, but I live in Australia!

I’m new to the forum, but not necessarily new to niche sites.

I had a “best reviews” style site in 2017 which was doing ok, but then the traffic dropped so I then started a more informational based site in 2019, this one did really well and I managed to get it on Mediavine before selling it in 2022 for almost 6 figures! (I was so close)

I have started other sites since then, but I haven’t had as much success.

I did start a site in November 2022 and it was doing really well but got hit by the Sept 2023 HCU. I went from about 40,000 sessions to 13,000 sessions!

I’ve been playing with AI/ChatGPT and I’ve got a couple of AI sites, one of them I really tried my hardest with, trying to make it legit, by including my sources in the article, but it still got hit by the March Core Update. It’s still indexed, it’s just none of the articles appear in the serps now.

What else can I say? I like Karaoke, Trivia/Quizzes, Wrestling, Sleeping, err… that’s about it!

I don’t know if you have a “Introductions” forum or thread, I couldn’t find one!

Hi John, great intro! I come from about 8 years of publishing content websites, but have had a few sites definitely impacted through algorithm changes throughout the years.

Unfortunately, it seems like Google is targeting AI & spam more – how have those projects of yours been doing?

Also, no intro thread here, but we have an intro channel in the Niche Pursuits Pro community :).
